Ancient Egypt, 3rd Intermediate - Late Period, c. 945 - 343 BC. Nice Egyptian bronze aegis of the goddess Bastet, wearing a solar disc and uraeus. 2 1/2" (6.4cm). Some loss to one side, two suspension loops at the back. Lovely detail not really evident in these washed-out photos. The aegis was a collar-like amulet which often adorned the top of the counterpoise to the menyet collar. Ex old French collection. #AE2286:

Ancient Egypt. Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC. A fantastic and very large Egyptian bronze figure of seated Isis. Beautifully detailed and seated on her throne suckling the infant Horus who sits on her lap. She wears a tight-fitting gown, striated wig and a headdress consisting of a solar disk between cow's horns, uraeus in front. The figure is well preserved with nice style and crisp detail, the surfaces well-preserved with a pleasing red-brown patina. Height: 6 1/2" (16.4 cm). Mounted on a nice wood throne which in turn sits upon a lucite base (entire piece stands 7 3/4" tall).
